Under the intense afternoon sun of Central Oregon's high desert, the Painted Hills of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument seem like a mirage; especially during the rare occasions when there are clouds in the sky.
I am a visual artist using tools of digital Photography for my artistic expression. Beyond the photographic capture of the raw beauty of nature, the 'digital darkroom' lets me bring to life images inspired by my photogenic home; the Pacific Northwest region of the US. To me art is a 'language' native to the realm of human emotions. So, in my work I seek the patterns, colors and subjects that elicit an emotional response which I then attempt to communicate to the viewer using the tools and techniques of digital photography.
